Bradshaw, Colantoni & McCullough – January 2019

January 30th, 2019

Congratulations to Havelock High School’s Cora Bradshaw, Rhiannon Colantoni, and Diamond McCullough, recipients of the Do the Right Thing Award from the Havelock Police Department. These classmates volunteered to assist a struggling student in their class with a difficult assignment. They realized the student was struggling and wanted to include her in their work group project. This took a lot of time and effort. They could have just as easily done the assignment themselves and let her share the credit. But these young ladies helped/taught the student during the project so that she may learn herself. The student was able to do certain tasks in the project so that they could turn in one complete assignment.

Thank you, ladies, for doing the right thing!

DTRT-April 2018-Graham A Barden Elementary

April 30th, 2018

Congratulations to Graham A Barden Elementary’s Ta’Mein Howard, recipient of the Do the Right Thing Award from the Havelock Police Department. Ta’Mein found $20.00 before school began and as soon as he saw his teacher in class he let her know he found the money. I informed him once announcements and the morning rush was over we would let the office know and see if we could return it. Across the hall from us Mrs. Hernandez had a student who was very upset. He had lost his $20.00 for his field trip to Raleigh. Mystery solved! Ta’Mein was happy to return the money and the other student was overjoyed.

Thank you, Ta’Mein, for doing the right thing!
