Caleb Casey- October 2019

Congratulations to Graham A Barden Elementary School’s Caleb Casey, recipient of the Do the Right Thing Award from the Havelock Police Department. During class Caleb noticed one of his classmates was having seizure and needed medical attention. Caleb immediately notified his teach. As a result of Caleb’s quick action the student was able to get the medical assistance they needed.

Jayden Howard- March 2020

Congratulations to Havelock Middle School’s Jayden Howard, recipient of the Do the Right Thing Award from the Havelock Police Department. Jayden observed a fellow student being bullied. Showing great concern for the student jayden stepped in and stopped the bullying. Jayden also told the other students he would not tolerate them bullying any student.

Brylan Lutz-January 2020

Congratulations to W Jesse Gurganus Elementary’s Brylan Lutz, recipient of the Do the Right Thing Award from the Havelock Police Department. Brylan guided a new student through school and helped the student with their daily activities. Brylan also noticed the student’s book bag was falling apart and later came to school with a new book bag for the student.

Riley Schubert-January 2020

Congratulations to Graham A Barden Elementary’s Riley Schubert, recipient of the Do the Right Thing Award from the Havelock Police Department. Riley observed that another student was hesitant about walking to class. Riley took the student’s hand and reassured the student on the way to class. Riley displayed compassion and concern for his fellow student.

Lanay Goodwyn-November 2019

Congratulations to Tucker Creek Middle’s Lanay Goodwyn , recipient of the Do the Right Thing Award from the Havelock Police Department. During an after school event, Lanay purchased items from concessions using a larger bill and was provided change back. However, Lanay realized she was given an additional $2.00 cash and returned it.

Ayden Cuella-November 2019

Congratulations to Havelock Middle’s Ayden Cuella , recipient of the Do the Right Thing Award from the Havelock Police Department. After school, Ayden had found a cell phone, in front of the school, that belonged to another individual. Without hesitation, Ayden turned the cell phone into school resource officer so it could be returned to the owner.

Phoenix Murray-October 2019

Congratulations to Gurganus Elementary’s Phoenix Morris , recipient of the Do the Right Thing Award from the Havelock Police Department. While at school, Phoenix found a wallet on her bus containing money, which belonged to another student. Phoenix turned the wallet into school staff so it could be returned to the owner.

Zachary Murray-October 2019

Congratulations to Havelock Elementary’s Zachary Murray , recipient of the Do the Right Thing Award from the Havelock Police Department. During activity time, Zachary observed another student playing alone and having a difficult time. Zachary took the time to help the student and interacted with the student for several minutes while other students ignored the student. ZachARY displayed great compassion and concern for his fellow classmates.
