Seeking Volunteers for Citizen Advisory Board

The Board of Commissioners are seeking volunteers to serve on a Citizen Advisory Board to update Havelock’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan. The Plan will serve as a blueprint for future growth within the City and Extraterritorial Jurisdiction (ETJ). The Committee will work with a Consultant and City Planning staff to develop draft goals, objectives and policies for the Plan through a series of meetings, beginning in May 2021.

The Citizen Advisory Committee will be composed of 11 voting members. The Board desires to have a diverse group of stakeholders from the community to include citizens (teens through seniors and from all walks of life), small businesses, financial institutions and the development community. Representation from the Extraterritorial Jurisdiction is highly encouraged.

Those interested in volunteering may apply online. Applications can be found on the homepage of the City’s website under “Volunteer for a Committee” or you may contact the City Clerk’s office directly at (252) 444-6406.
