Please, do not call the police department business line for storm related information

  • There will be no garbage pickups on scheduled Thursday’s 9/13 and Friday’s 9/14 routes this week (from the City issued blue carts). These Thurs and Friday’s routes will be picked up next week (Thurs 9/20 and Friday 9/21) with no stickers required for extra trash.

  • There will be no recycling pickup this Friday 9/14.

  • Convenience Centers may be closed on Thursday but nothing has been determined yet.

Emergency Shelters:

Four schools will have emergency shelters available: Havelock High School, Brinson Elementary, Ben Quinn Elementary (pet friendly, only cats and dogs) and Farm Life Elementary.

Craven County Emergency Management will open four Emergency Shelters on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the following locations for citizens living in low lying areas prone to flooding who have nowhere else to relocate to:

*If you are evacuated to a shelter, bring the following supplies with you for you and your family (a 2-4 day supply):

  • Bedding (pillows, blankets, cot, chair)
  • non-perishable food
  • water (one gallon per person per day
  • medications
  • baby supplies (formula, diapers, etc.)
  • pet supplies, flashlight, extra clothes
  • and entertainment items (books, games, etc.)
