BOC Public Hearings: June 24, 2019

Notice is hereby given that the Havelock Board of Commissioners will hold two (2) Public Hearings in the Havelock City Hall Auditorium, located at 1 Governmental Avenue, Havelock, NC on Monday, June 24, 2019, with the first beginning at 7:05 p.m., or as soon as the matter can be reached, and the remaining following immediately thereafter. The purpose of the hearings is to receive public comments on:

(1) A Proposed Text Amendment – To Add a Freeboard Requirement to the UDO (Unified Development Ordinance) Section 156.02 – Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance, and amend the definition of Regulatory Flood Protection Elevation in Section 163.01 – Definitions; and

(2) A Proposed Text Amendment – To Remove Manufactured Home (MH) as a Special Use from the Permitted Use Table 155-8 in R-20 District, and to include text that MH is permitted in the R-MH District of Section 155.0703(A)

All interested parties are urged to attend. Citizens are invited to make written or oral comments on any of the above listed public hearings. For additional information please call (252) 444-6400 during regular business hours.

Havelock Board of Commissioners adopts amendments to Nuisance Vehicle Ordinance

Notice of Discharge of Untreated Sewage

February 11th, 2016

The City of Havelock Utility Department had a discharge of untreated wastewater from our collection system located at the end of Oakwood Drive of approximately 192,000 gallons. The discharge occurred on February 4, 2016 continuing until February 5, 2016 for approximately 20 ½ hours. The untreated wastewater entered into Joe’s Branch in the Neuse River Basin. The City of Havelock is actively engaged in working with an engineering firm to isolate the sources causing this discharge and to prevent further discharges. This notice was required by North Carolina General Statutes Article 21, Chapter 143.215C. For more information contact Lauren M. Wargo, Public Information Officer at (252)463-7171.
