1. Where is City Hall located?

City Hall is located directly across the street from the Police and Fire Departments. A common landmark to look for is the Harrier Fighter Jet surrounded by flags. Our address is:

2. Can you pay court fees/fines to the Receptionist at City Hall?

No, they must be paid to the Clerk of Court or to the Magistrate. Court days are every other Thursday here at City Hall, but the receptionist does not have anything to do with court proceedings.  Call the Clerk of court at 252-639-9004 and the Magistrate at 252-447-3940.

3. Does the Mayor have an office inside City Hall, and if so, what are his hours?

The Mayor does have an office in City Hall and is available every Monday from 3 to 5 pm. On the 4th Monday of every month, which is also our televised Town Hall meetings, he is available from 3 to 6:30 pm. Please call in advance if you would like to meet with him after 5 pm so arrangements can be made to open the office. Mr. Lewis wants to hear from the citizens of Havelock. If you have questions or concerns you would like to address, please feel free to call City Hall to make an appointment, or you may email him.

4. Where can I find out about City job openings?

You can view all of our open positions online. They are also available through the Employment Security Commission, and at City Hall.

5. How can I apply for a City job?

Applications are only accepted if submitted for an open position. Applications may be downloaded from our website, picked up at City Hall, or submitted online. In lieu of the city application, the state NC PD107 application form may be submitted.

6. Are resumes accepted in lieu of an application?

No, unless otherwise stated in the "vacancy notice", either a completed City of Havelock application or the state NC PD107 application is normally required. Resumes may be submitted with the completed application.
